Africa Alive!

Africa Alive! is a 100 acre walk-through safari park featuring more than 80 species of animal from the African continent South of Lowestoft in Suffolk.

Just a few of the animals you can see are lions, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, meerkats, hyaenas, aardvark, monkeys, lemurs, owls, parrots, ostrich, tortoises, lizards, buffalo and chimpanzees. The Plains of Africa area is where many of the animals roam freely together simulating the savannah of Africa. In the Lookout Lodge you can see over the Kingdom of the Lion area for uninterrupted views of the lions. There are daily scheduled talks and feeding times and there's also a free road-train you can take round the park featuring live commentary. In Farm Yard Corner you can feed and touch some of the animals. Other outdoor activities are the children's play area and the woodland walk.

There are a number of indoor animal enclosures such as the bat and reptile house plus the Discovery Centre has small mammals and invertebrates to see plus a reading corner, colouring and puzzle activities, exhibits and displays. The zoo also has the 'Wild Zone' indoor adventure play area for children under 12, which has activity boards plus a play frame with ball bit, rope bridge, tube slide, air cannons plus a separate under 5's area. Animal experiences available. Can host birthday parties. Season tickets also include entry to Banham zoo.
