Lindisfarne Castle, built around 1550, is set on Holy island just off the Northumbrian coastline. The island is accessible via a causeway during low-tide and there is 1 mile walk from the island village, where the car parks are, to the Castle itself. Some of the features of the castle include the gun emplacements, vaulted ceilings, entrance hall, bread ovens and the Henrietta. Other things to see at the castle are the Gertrude Jekyll Garden and the Castle Point lime kilns.
