Lyme Park, House and Garden

Lyme Park, House and Garden a stately home dating from the 1500's, with gardens and a 1300 acre estate near Manchester in Cheshire.

The House features lavish interiors and is presented as it might have been in it's Edwardian heyday during the early 1900's. Some of the rooms visitors can see included the library, the long gallery with stage and the Butler's rooms.

Things to see in the garden include an Edwardian rose garden, the ravine garden, herbaceous borders, the Dutch garden, a mill pond and the reflecting lake where some of the BBC's production of Pride and Prejudice was filmed. The park has herds of red and fallow deer and includes moorland and there are seven orienteering courses mapped out through it (buy maps from ticket office).
