This was the house where Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway, was brought up. It is situated a mile outside of Stratford Upon Avon in Shottery. The house was owned by descendands of Anne Hathaway till 1892 when it was purchased by The Shakespear Birthplace Trust. The house consquently contains many items of furniture dating back to the time of Anne Hathaway. Museum room with exhibition. Gardening exhibition in the thatched barn. Gardens, orchard, tree garden and yew maze. Open all year.
