Baked Well Pottery Painting is a studio where you can enjoy the indoor activity of painting some pottery in the market town of Bakewell in the Peak District.

Set in a relaxing environment, in a listed building, the craft is suitable for all ages. You select a piece of pottery from over a 100 items such as plates, mugs, bowls, piggy banks, teapots, coasters and plaques, then paint it to your taste and leave it with the studio to glaze and fire. You then return about a week later to pick it up. Optionally you can paint with acrylic paints which will mean you can take the item away within an hour of finishing painting. You can just turn up or to be sure of a spot you can book in advance. You pay for the item you choose to paint, then for use of the studio and paints to paint it.

Alternatively you can have a go at canvas painting, which is suitable for ages 9 and over or Decopatch a little-know craft using glue-varnish and coloured paper. They can also create keepsakes of a child's hand or foot print in clay for you.

  • Refreshments available from the Naughty & Nice Cafe while you do your painting including proper coffee, tea and cakes.

Before you start your journey to Baked Well Pottery Painting for your day out, we recommend that you check their website or contact them to confirm opening times and admission prices.
