Basildon Park, built in the late 1700's, is a Georgian mansion that had been largely derelict but was restored to it's former glory in the 1950's by Lord and Lady Iliffe. Many features of the house are now dressed to reflect the 1950's period when the house was restored. The grounds feature a terrace, a rose garden, croquet lawn, Hazel Hideout, railway path and woodland walk. There is also 400 acres of parkland surrounding the grounds with four way-marked paths to explore.
