Chedworth Roman Villa is the remains of a 4th century Roman villa near Chedworth village in Gloucestershire.
This National Trust managed attraction lies in the heart of the Cotswolds and is a scheduled ancient monument. The remains of the villa, which would have been home to very wealthy individuals contains fine examples of a bathhouse, underfloor heating, latrines, a water shrine and mosaics. Visitors can get close to examine the impressive mosaics on a number of suspended walkways.
The site has been open to the public since Victorian times and a Victorian museum displays the artefacts unearthed on site including figurines, pottery, jewellery, coins, tools and spear heads. There are free tours running most days with knowledgeable costumed guides. Virtual tours available to download free from the National Trust website. Children's activities include a dressing up box and family tracker backpacks available to borrow from reception with children's activities. There is also a woodland to explore at the site.
