Egglestone Abbey

Egglestone Abbey is the ruins of a historic abbey in the town of Barnard Castle in the county of Durham.

This English Heritage managed attraction is the remains of the 13th century monastery that was later converted to a residence after the dissolution of the Monasteries. The ruins lie next to the river Tees and includes parts of the church and later residence and a vaulted undercroft.
