Ellenroad Engine House is a historic cotton mill which houses a collection of restored steam engines just off Junction 21 of the M62 in Rochdale.

The attraction is run by a charitable Trust made up of volunteers and was originally created in 1985 to preserve the cotton mill's steam engines and engine house. The engine house has since been scheduled as a National Historic Monument and the Trust has acquired and restored many other historic steam engines which are also on display at the mill. Many of the engines are in working order and on the first Sunday of the month (excluding January) they hold steaming days when the engines are powered up.

The mill's main engine is the 'Victoria and Alexandra' engine dating from 1892, originally a triple steam expansion engine and later converted to a twin tandem compound engine. Other engines on display at the mill include the Whitelees Beam Engine in the former boiler house, the Marsden Engine and a 70KV D.C. Generator Engine built by Browett Lindley of Manchester.

In the pump room there is the largest restored Mather and Platt sprinkler pump which provided the water for the fire-fighting sprinkler system throughout the mill (not currently operable due to a missing piston). They have also recreated a 1910 workshop with machines and tools from the Wildspur Mill, Holmfirth and the Addingham Mill, Addingham which are now powered by an oil engine. There are also a number of engines that can be seen going through the restoration process including the Fern Mill engine project, an engine originally from the Fern Cotton Spinning Co, Ltd of Oldham.
