Manor Heath Park and Jungle Experience

Manor Heath Park and Jungle Experience consists of 8 hectares of gardens including undercover glasshouses with a climate-controlled jungle simulation located in Halifax.

Created on the site of an old manor house (demolished in 1959) the outside gardens contained within the original walled garden include a container garden, an aromatic walk, an alpine trough garden, a Mediterranean garden, a rock garden, a Winter garden and an English garden. There is also a sunken garden, a woodland walk and a wild-flower area.

The glasshouses now create a tropical oasis divided into four zones, with high humidity and temperatures all the year round. The Time Zone features a pre-historic jungle with plants that existed during the time of the dinosaurs, the Savage garden houses carnivorous plants, the Lily Pond area and the Butterfly World which features free-flying tropical butterflies. Other things you'll see in the jungle experience are the Terrapin pool with goldfish, tropical plants including figs, ginger, pineapples and bananas and quails walking around the butterfly area. Outdoor children's play area and paddling pool during the Summer holidays.
