Poldark Mine

Poldark Mine is a visitor attraction featuring tours around a tin mine dating from the 1700's and a craft village located in the Cober Valley.

During the day there are hour long guided tours of the mine or you can book an evening Ghost Tour of the mine lasting about 1 and a half hours. Outside there is much of the original machinery on view including a working Beam Pumping Engine, the Holman Traversing Winder, early Holman rock drills and the Wendron Cornish Boiler.

There is also a Cornish Overseas exhibition and the Poldark Musuem about mining in Cornwall and the lives of miners.

The craft centre contains workshops with craftspeople making such things as candles, jewellery and pottery, plus ceramic painters and wood turners and if you pre-book you can try your hand yourself at some of these activities. There is also a panning for gold or polished stones activity and a children's play area.
