This Palladian mansion, which dates back to 1680, is the stately home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Hertford. The impressive state rooms are adorned with wondrous collections of art, ceramics and antique furniture. Amongst some of the things visitors will see when touring the house are the baroque plasterwork in the Great Hall, the damask wall hangings in the Red saloon, a mural on the South staircase wall entitled 'The Temptation', painted ceilings in the Prince Regent’s bedroom, antique musical instruments in the music room and a 17th century grandfather clock in the Green drawing room.

There are 10 hectares of pleasure gardens to enjoy plus a further 170 hectares of 'Capability' Brown parkland. The formal garden areas include a woodland walk, a rose garden, herbaceous borders, Winter garden, the Fumpary (stumpary and fernery), a Summer meadow and a crevice garden with alpines. There is also a collection of sculptures to view throughout the gardens, plus the grade I list stables has a collection of old horse-drawn carriages to see. The stables also have an 'Artist in Residence' who is available to talk about her work between 11am and 4pm.

Other things to do in the gardens and parkland include a 3D maze in Adventure Wood, plus an adventure playground with aerial slide, climbing wall, slides, swings, and rope bridges.
