Sir Richard Arkwright's Masson Mills is a cotton mill dating from the late 1700s with a working textile museum next to the river Derwent near Matlock Bath.

The museum contains a collection of historic textile machinery with some of it dating from the 18th century. Machines include looms, winders, spinning machines, knitting machines, cotton doubling machines and 'The Devil'. There are also many other original mill artefacts to see including a collection of bobbins. Areas to view include the overseer's office, the doubling room, the weaving shed, the spinning and carding room, the mechanics workshop, the bobbin room, the boiler room, the turbine house, the engine house, the weir and the waterwheel pit.

There are daily machinery demonstrations running from 11am to 2pm (12pm to 2pm on Sundays). Guided tours available for an extra fee. There is also a shopping village on the site which is all indoors over 5 floors and features 60 retail outlets.
