Wollaton Hall and Deer Park

Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is an Elizabethan mansion, museums, gardens and parkland West of Nottingham city in Nottinghamshire.

This Grade I listed hall has hardly changed since it was built in the late 1500's. Most of the rooms need to be viewed via the guided tours which occur daily at 11am, 2pm and 3pm. Amongst the areas to view are the Tudor Kitchens with original ovens and cooking demonstrations on event days, the Regency Dining Room and Regency Salon with accompanying audio visual presentations and the Prospect Room.

The hall also contains a Natural History Museum which is divided into a number of themed galleries displaying a wide range of items from it's collection of over 750,000. The zoological, geological and botanical specimens include rocks and minerals, skeletons, stuffed animals, mounted insects and fossils.

Outside there are formal gardens which include an iron glasshouse with camellias and 500 acres of deer park with water features and woods, part of which is a Nature reserve. There are Segway tours of the park on the last Sunday of the month for an additional charge.

The Nottingham Industrial museum is also located within the hall grounds which exhibits a number of historic machines and devices related to the industrial revolution including communications, transport, steam engines and textile machinery. (Entry fee applies).
