Woodchester Park is an area of Cotswolds countryside near Stroud in Gloucestershire.

This National Trust managed park is a wooded valley that was landscaped during the 18th century. There are 5 lakes in the park with one of the lakes featuring a man-made island that is now used as a heronry. There are also a number of old buildings through the park including a dog kennels, an ice house, a temple and an old Boat House dating from the early 1800s now used by a colony of bats. There are three way-marked walking trails and a number of bridle paths (need to get permit to ride a horse in the park) through the park and there is also a free to use adventure play area with a see-saw, swings, bridges, balance beams, musical logs, zip wire and climbing logs.

Also located within the park is an unfinished, Grade I listed, Victorian mansion called Woodchester Mansion (not managed by the National Trust). There is no vehicular access to the mansion though it has it's own car park open on weekends on Bank Holidays. A free mini-bus then takes visitors from the car park to the mansion. On weekdays visitors to the mansion should use the National Trust car park and a free mini-bus also runs from there to the mansion every half hour.

  • Pay and display National Trust car park.
  • Free car parking at the Mansion car park (only open weekends and BH Mondays).
  • Gift shop at the Mansion.
  • Tea room at the Mansion.
  • Picnic areas in the park.
  • Dogs welcome in the park.
