Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park

Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park is a heavy horse rescue centre with horse related activities and things to see, plus children's play facilities about 5 miles North West of Ringwood.

Some of the breeds of heavy horse that they have on the farm are Shire, Suffolk punch, Percheron and Clydesdale, but they also look after donkeys and other horses, plus a range of farm animals. Amongst the other animals you can see are Kune Kune pigs, llamas and Inuit snow dogs plus some rabbits and guinea pigs for the pet handling sessions. They have daily scheduled activities some of which involve the heavy horses, such as feeding, the Horse power display and harnessing. Then there are the rides: the tractor and trailor rides and the miniature horse and cart rides.

There are places both undercover and outside for children to play including a play barn with slide, a straw barn, a toddler's play barn, an outdoor play area with wooden play equipment and sand pit, plus go-karts, pedal tractors, bouncy castle and fairground rides (some of which cost extra). There are also pony rides and pony grooming. Other things to see at the attraction are the blacksmith's shop, the harness room, plus the collections of vintage gypsy caravans, carts and trucks. Can cater for Birthday parties.
