Quarry Bank Mill is a historic cotton mill, pauper house, gardens and a 400 acre estate North West of Wilmslow in Cheshire.

The location for filming of Channel 4's 'The Mill' period drama, the cotton Mill has a working water wheel and was built in 1784. Containing vintage steam engines, cotton processing and fabric making machines, with live demonstrations of the machinery in action and demonstrations of hand spinning and weaving, as practised prior to using machines. See how the workers lived with exhibits of their clothes, toys and recreated rooms. Other things to see in the mill include the offices and the privy.

The Apprentice house was used to house pauper children who worked at the mill and it's interiors have been furnished as they might have been when it was in use, demonstrating the lives of the working children. The house also has a garden recreated how it was in 1830 with vegetables and medicinal herbs.

The Quarry Bank gardens rise from the valley bottom up through wooded hillside and is divided into the upper and lower gardens and features views over the river, caves and cliffs. The Upper garden has the kitchen garden and glasshouses while the Lower gardens have the ornamental ladies garden. There is also the tennis lawn near Quarry Bank House to see.

The 400 acre Styal Estate includes woodland, the river Bollin and Styal village which housed the workers of the mill and the surrounding lands and had a shop, school and two churches. Walks routes available to download from National Trust website. Dogs welcome in Estate.
