Salisbury Cathedral is a medieval Anglican cathedral dating from the 13th century located in Salisbury city centre.

Consecrated in 1258, the cathedral features early English Gothic style architecture and has the tallest church spire in the UK. Some of the things you can see at the cathedral include the octagonal chapter house with medieval stone friezes representing various bible stories and the best preserved of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. The main cathedral also has one of the most complete sets of original pews which date from 1236 and were made with oak donated by King Henry III. You can also see the oldest working medieval clock in the world and a collection of church silver.

The cathedral also boasts the largest cloister in the UK which contains a landscaped garden. Volunteer guides provide free guided tours around the cathedral. There are also daily Tower tours (for which there is a charge) that take you up to the interior spaces of the roof and towers and to the base of the spire where you can see the original medieval woodwork and you can also go out onto the external walkways to look out over Salisbury city. The cathedral also regularly hosts exhibitions of art or musical events, check their website for details.
