Crook Hall and Gardens is a Medieval hall dating from around 1208 and a series of English gardens just a ten-minute walk from Durham city centre.

In addition to the Medieval hall, later editions to the building added a Jacobean manor house dating from the late 1600's and a Georgian house and coach house dating from the 1700's which are all available to view. The hall is reputedly haunted by a lady in white. The gardens are various English-themed gardens including a walled garden, a secret walled garden, a maze and wild flower meadow, a moat pool and fish ponds, the Shakespeare garden, a fruit tree orchard, the silver and white garden, a woodland garden, a vegetable garden with greenhouse and the cathedral garden.

  • Pay and display parking on site.
  • Courtyard Café and Georgian dining room serving light lunches and afternoon teas.
