Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden comprises the ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian Abbey, a Cistercian corn mill, the Elizabethan Fountains Hall, the Victorian St Mary's Church and 800 acres of landscaped gardens and medieval deer park including the Georgian Studley Royal water garden.

There is an exhibit in the gatehouse telling the history of the abbey, which is the largest monastic ruins in the country. The Fountains corn mill features a water-wheel and an interactive exhibit where you can have a go at grinding some corn. Lots of mapped out walks and cycle rides around the park grounds.
