Goddards is a house built in the Arts and Crafts style with gardens in the outskirts of York in North Yorkshire.
This house with Arts and Craft style architecture was owned by Noel Goddard Terry from the famous chocolate-making company Terry’s of York and is presented with a 1930’s Arts and Craft style décor to match the period of the house. Inside the house are exhibitions about the history of the chocolate firm and an interactive exhibit in the playroom with 1930’s toys and games. Guided tours for available for groups at additional cost.
There are also four acres of floral gardens to see split into yew-hedged garden rooms and include a bowling green, 1930’s glasshouse, apiary, ponds and wilderness gardens. There is a walking route, from the house to the city centre, taking in some of the sights, available to download from the National Trust website.
