Museum of Science and Industry is a museum which focuses on the science and industrial history of the Manchester area.
The attraction is located a few minutes from Manchester city centre in the old Liverpool Road train station buildings (the world's oldest passenger railway station). Journeying from Manchester's past through to the present day through series of galleries with interactive exhibits which include the sights and sounds of the cotton mills, a collection of working steam engines and recreated living rooms of the 1930's and 1950's.
One of the galleries is a recreation of a textile mill with presentations on how they worked. Other galleries include The ‘Connecting Manchester' gallery about communications, the Underground Manchester gallery, a gallery about Manchester's sewerage and water supply, an air transport gallery and a gallery about animation in the North West. There is also a 4D theatre presentation for which you need to pay.
