Tanfield Railway

Tanfield Railway runs vintage steam and diesel train rides near Gateshead in Tyne and Wear.

This attraction is opperated on one of the world's oldest railway lines, which was originally laid down in 1725 more than 75 years before the first steam engine. Visitors to this attraction get to ride authentic traditional style passenger carriages pulled by vintage steam or diesel engines. Afternoon teas can be served to you on your train journey for an additional charge.
