The Waterworks Museum - Hereford is a museum about the history of producing drinking water located on the outskirts of Hereford in Herefordshire.
In a picturesque location by the River Wye, this attraction is set in a Victorian water pumping station and also has another historic pumping station that was moved from Leominster.
It is run as a charitable trust, staffed entirely by volunteers and tells the history of making water suitable for drinking from pre-historic times through to the present day.
There is also information on the engineering progress made through time and the key historical figures that played a part in the industry. There are informational display panels, films, documents, artefacts and collection of historic working steam, gas, electric and diesel powered engines and machines used in water processing. Amongst the items on display is the oldest working triple-expansion steam engine in the UK.
