Bowland Wild Boar Park is a family-run animal and nature park set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, near the village of Chipping. Spanning 62 acres of scenic countryside, the park is home to a diverse range of animals including wild boar, meerkats, raccoons, wallabies, and red deer, as well as llamas, alpacas, and traditional farm residents like goats and pigs.

Activities & Facilities:
  • Hands-on Fun: Enjoy animal feeding and supervised petting sessions.
  • Play Areas: Features outdoor playgrounds, a sandpit, pedal tractors, and an undercover straw bale play barn.
  • Nature Trails: Seven way-marked walks wind through 30 acres of woodland and along the River Hodder, featuring a sculpture trail and wildlife spotting guides.
  • Food & Drink: The Trough & Brew Café serves hot meals (including home-reared wild boar), snacks, and drinks. Picnic tables are also provided for those bringing their own food.
  • Eco-Friendly: The park holds a Gold Green Tourism Award, featuring a wind turbine and solar-powered Eco Lodge with interactive displays.

2026 Update: The park has undergone a significant winter refurbishment and has its Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.

Expert Tip: For 2026, they have moved to a simple vehicle-based pricing system, you pay one fixed price per car for everyone inside.
