The Herschel Museum of Astronomy is a house and museum where renowned astronomer William Herschel lived with his brother and sister in the late 18th century.

The house is a Grade II listed terraced town-house in Bath, which William Herschel, together with his sister Caroline and brother Alexander, moved into not long after they were constructed in 1764. William was living here in 1781 when he was the first to identify the planet Uranus and was one of the best telescope makers of his day. William's sister Caroline also became a fine astronomer in her own right and did important work in the field of comets.

The house is decorated in keeping with the period of Herschel's residence and contains items relating to the Herschels and their work in Astronomy including replicas of some of their telescopes. Some of the rooms you can view include the music room and the workshop where William and Alexander made the telescopes. There is also the Caroline Lucretia Gallery which has changing art exhibits and the Star Vault auditorium where a short film about the Herschels is shown, narrated by Sir Patrick Moore. The house also features a pretty Georgian town house garden to see. Audio tours available.
