The Museum of Nottingham Life at Brewhouse Yard is a local history museum in Nottingham City Centre in Nottinghamshire.

Set in the Brewhouse Yard, at the base of Castle Rock, five 17th century cottages contain exhibits and displays telling the social history of the last 300 years in Nottingham. The items on display include costumes, textiles, equipment, furniture and historic artefacts and are shown in themed exhibits and galleries with reconstructions of rooms and scenes. There are early 20th century grocery and pharmacy reconstructions, domestic scenes and a Victorian school room. Of interest to children of all ages will be the Toy gallery showing the history of popular toys and the Growing Up exhibition about the differences between the early lives of children from Victorian times up to the present day.

In addition to the museum displays there is also a network of man-made caves, built into the bedrock, to explore. Originally used for storage they also include a reconstructed air raid shelter.

  • Use local public car parks.
  • Fully wheelchair accessible.
