Waddesdon Manor is a 19th-century French chateau-style country mansion set within extensive grounds, located between Aylesbury and Bicester. Built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in 1874, the house was designed to display a world-class collection of 18th-century French decorative arts, royal furniture, and English portraits by masters such as Gainsborough and Reynolds.

The ornate interiors feature a variety of grand rooms including the dining room, library, and the unique Rothschild Treasury. Visitors can also explore the servant's wing, which provides a glimpse into the domestic life of the manor with its preserved kitchens and laundry rooms. The house operates a timed ticket system and hosts both permanent and temporary historical exhibitions.

The Victorian-style gardens are famous for their formal parterre, monumental fountains, and a rare 19th-century Rococo-style aviary. The grounds include a rose garden, woodland walks, and a large adventure playground. A complimentary land train service operates between the visitor car park and the main manor and stables areas.
