Walmer Castle and Gardens

Walmer Castle is one of the many coastal fortifications erected during the reign of Henry VIII and later used by the Duke of Wellington in his post as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.

Some of the things to view are the Wellington museum, an exhibit of the valuable furnishing used in the castle and the rooms used by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother on her visits to the castle. The gardens include a walled garden, a kitchen garden and the Queen Mother's garden.
