The World Museum is a free indoor attraction set over six floors in Liverpool city centre with lots of interactive and hands-on exhibits and displays.
Things to see in the museum include an aquarium with live fish from different parts of the world including a tropical exhibit, a mangrove section and a display of native species. The Bug house gallery has displays of insect specimens plus a live colony of leaf-cutter ants and a live bee hive to see. There is also the Treasure house theatre which regularly presents family shows and live performances. The Clore Natural History centre part of the museum has over 20,000 natural science items on display.
A number of the galleries feature information and exhibits about people and cultures such as the Weston Discovery centre which has archaeological and ethnological collections that you can handle, the Ancient World gallery features information about the Anglo Saxons, the Egyptians, the Romans and the Greeks and the World Cultures gallery looks at the differing lives, traditions and beliefs of people from around the world. There is also a Dinosaurs gallery featuring life-size replicas of dinosaur skeletons, a Space gallery that has exhibits about such topics as meteorites, rockets and the moon and a Time galley which features exhibits of clocks and other time-displaying instruments. Next to the Space gallery is also a digital projection Planetarium which has daily scheduled shows about the night sky.
