Kielder Water and Forest Park is an 11 sq kilometre man-made lake and 250 sq miles of forest with lots of water and land-based things to do for all the family. The park contains three visitor centres each with parking plus different facilities and activities. You should be aware that many activities require pre-booking.

Tower Knowe centre has an interactive exhibit about the area, a shop selling gifts plus fishing and outdoor wear and is the location of the Kielder Water Sailing Club. It also the Cafe on the water serving light lunches and afternoon teas and an Osprey Ferry port.

Leaplish Waterside Park has the Boat Inn restaurant & bar serving meals and alcoholic drinks, a gift shop, an indoor pool and sauna, an Osprey ferry port, a Mapping Kielder miniature golf course, the Play garden children's play area, pleasure boat hire, fishing boat hire, sea scooters, water walkerz and archery.

The Kielder Castle Visitor Centre an 18th century hunting lodge and hosts a variety of exhibits. Nearby you'll also find the Minotaur Maze and children's play area, bicycle hire, the Kielder Salmon centre (a conservation hatchery), a Forest exhibition, mountain biking trails and the Kielder Castle Café serving locally sourced home made food.

The Calvert Trust Kielder is an activity centre located within the park where you can pre-book various adventure activities or go along to one of their activity drop-in days. Some of the activities on offer include climbing walls, high and low ropes course, laser clay shooting, orienteering, archery and canoeing and they also have a hydrotherapy pool, infra red sauna and sensory room.

Other things to see and do dotted around and about the woodland include an observatory (open at night times), a bird of prey centre, open air art and architecture, wildlife hides, orienteering, lots of walking, cycling and horse riding trails and plenty of wildlife and nature.
